Digital Humanities Datasets

A list of collections and datasets that are (mostly) distinctive or unique to Rutgers, which may serve as excellent source material for digital humanities research or pedagogical projects. Most of these sources presume the user wishes to use automated methods to download data and/or metadata. A few have graphical user interfaces (dashboards), e.g. Gale DSL, HathiTrust Research Center, and Constellate.

This list was begun by the Rutgers University Libraries' Digital Humanities Working Group in 2017 with the "Collections as Data" framework in mind. It was updated in 2025 with additional licensed library resources. The GitHub repository for this site is available at https://github.com/rutgersdh/dh-sources.
